Hello! Welcome.
Almost a decade ago I had a space somewhat like this to capture all my musings about herbalism, which I was studying at the time. I really enjoyed it. A little release at the end of a day. A place to collect all my learnings. Then, my subscription ended and I lost all the writing. I think about it often. I remember it fondly because this stage of my life was very slow. I didn’t have many responsibilities, I took a lot of walks, and was really beginning to notice the plants calling out to me. The writing was very light, observant, and imaginative. A love story between a woods explorer and a basket. Herbalism is a very mindful craft, focusing heavily on gratitude and our connection to the natural world. In many ways, I have carried these morals into our offerings at Fogwood. If it weren’t for the bunches of herbs always hanging from the rafters in my home, I would have never imagined the benefits of drying flowers. They are sustainable, and a breath of fresh air when you need it most. The possibilities of creation are endless, and everlasting.
I am hoping to find my way to this space more often. My lexicon hasn’t been flexed in a very long time, but is craving the exercise. I imagine one day I can compile all the musings and put together a book of sorts. Perhaps about gardening, but mixed with a whole bunch of story telling. But in the meantime, I’ll just talk a lot about Process, the human experience, and things I find wildly beautiful.
Stay Inspired,
M
