Blooming Book // preorder

I enjoy an old book to see how the minds of people have shifted over time. What did people think about in 1938? In the 1800s. Any time that is not right now. What I usually find is that the core of our being, through and through, is love.
And love is not just one thing. Or one person. And it's what we're all trying to figure out.
Dried flowers, although beautiful, are less about how they look, and more about what they represent. Paired with an old book, these flowers express a sentiment stuck in time.
* Searching for the old books that desire to bloom is one of my favorite parts of this process. To create the book sculptures, I gently fold the pages and anchor them with paper clips. The books can either be standing or laying flat depending on where you would like to display them. No glue is used to adhere the pages, as preserving the books is essential to these creations. The folded up pages create a tight slot for the stems to slide into and they do not need anything extra to hold them in place.
Large books will be anything greater than 9 inches, medium books will be anything larger than 7 inches, and small books will be under 6 inches
